First Fridays IGNITE TIMARU was an all ages arts and entertainment event that celebrated the incredible creative talent in Timaru occurring over two nights on Friday 4th November and Friday 2nd December.

Our very own First Fridays IGNITE Timaru event took place on November 4th and Friday 2nd December 2022. These events brought together local businesses, galleries and creative practitioners for a late-night event that included in-store arts activities from workshops to performances, whilst nearby public areas come to life with exhibitions, a Kidz Art Zone, live music, crafts and more. This trial aimed to cultivate a strong cultural quarter within the urban centre and build a resilient and vibrant local economy, help establish cultural areas and imagine new ways of utilising vacant spaces.
